Compass Traditional Rose Wood Whistle in D
Compass are proud to present this excellent wooden whistle offering. Made with the kind permission of Tommy Martin to his hybrid design, Compass have expanded on the tone-wood options available: Olivewood, which gives attractive wood figuring and a sweet, bright tone and Rosewood, which brings a bold, clear tone with a mellow edge.
Key to this design are the undulating bevels. These help stabilise tuning between upper and lower octaves, as well as provide an ergonomic playing experience that is familiar to those who enjoy the chanter style of Uillean Pipes.
The tapered bore aids intonation and evens the whistle’s timbre throughout its range. The Brass and Delrin head allow for precise tuning and a strident edge when you want to play louder in sessions.
